Outlook Christian Church
Experiencing ministry growth, Oaklandon Christian Church (now Outlook Christian Church) purchased a 50-acre site just outside McCordsville, Ind. with plans to relocate. The church desired a facility that would be viewed in the community as a place to come and worship, to connect with one another and for children to enjoy sports and recreation. Aspen Group partnered with the church to design a unique facility that aligned with the church’s culture. It was also through this process that Oaklandon Christian Church decided to give a new, forward-looking name to their church - Outlook Christian Church.
The new 29,000 sq. ft., two-story multipurpose facility is Phase 1 of the master plan. A simple but colorful design with a little “edge” inside and out creates a warm, inviting space. Generously sized windows flood the interior with light, while retractable blinds allow for managing the natural light during services and other events. The multi-use gym space features three basketball courts and doubles as a high-tech worship venue for over 500. The first floor also features classrooms for the weekday preschool program, fellowship spaces and an outdoor terrace. The full-service kitchen provides ample room to prepare church meals, preschool lunches and concessions for sports leagues. The second floor classroom spaces use operable partition walls to divide the three large classrooms into as many as six smaller gathering spaces for adult and youth education.
The new facility has equipped Outlook Christian Church with the space needed for their vibrant, growing ministries and sports leagues, which reach beyond the families in the church and into the surrounding community.
