The initial meetings between Moraine Valley Church and Aspen Group focused on designing a building that would enhance their current ministries and provide opportunities for new areas of outreach. Their current sanctuary underwent a facelift removing the sloped floor, modifying the dated platform for better functionality, installing new seating and carpeting, and relocating the tech and production booths for better visibility and audio quality. A new lobby addition was also incorporated into the new design. Natural lighting from the large skylight and a warm color palette highlights the full café with soft seating and a fireplace adjacent to a large gathering space just outside the sanctuary doors. The combination of renovation and addition create space that feels larger and yet much more intimate.
